Music recommendations
There’s a lot of music on the net, good and bad, some costs money, some you can get for free (and I don’t mean illegally for free). In some rare cases you can even find free music that makes you wonder why they won’t sell it, because it’s just too good. But hey why not accept a gift?
Here three albums I’ve run across in the last months that really deserve that you download them and listen to them until you’re sick of it!
1. Sarah Fimm - White Birds EP
The sound reminds me a bit of british trip hop, of bands like Portished and Archive, but with a personality of its own. The mood is ranging from gloomy to melancholic. The voice is beautiful and the mix seems really good to me. All in all a really mature EP that you can get right here on the EP’s microsite: www.whitebirdsep.com

2. Ugress - several EPs and albums
Ugress is my favourite Norwegian electronic band! Gisle Martens Meyer, the man behind the project, blends an amazingly wide spectrum of musical styles like funk, soundtracks, chiptune… There’s a couple of great free EPs you can download from their website www.ugress.com. If you’re into 8bit and chiptune stuff I’d suggest you take a listen to Kosmonaut or Meyer’s sideproject Ninja9000. Also the latest free release, Schizophonica, deserves some attention. Finally, I’d encourage you all to buy their album Unicorn, which is really a great sounding album, and perfect for parties! To get an idea of the album just download the tracks Redrum and The Ultimate Fix from the website.

3. t h i r t e e n - A Limited Vocabulary, Come Back
I let the best for the end. Thirteen aka Cormac Phelan is a Irish musician and photographer I discovered on Virb some years ago. His music immediately captured me, it’s got this mix of northern melancholy and delicate happyness that just makes me want to listen to it forever. There’s currently two albums from this guy, both can be downloaded for free from his website www.cormacphelan.com , both are absolutely worth it. There’s also a “donate” option on his website, I think if you enjoy his music, you should just buy his album for a fair price (an album on 7digital costs about 10 €). I think it’s only in our interest to support these people, so they can create more great music for us in the future!

Uzimak! is a place about sketching, casual creativity, rambling talk, mutations of the though, deviations of the subconsciousness and spare time philosophy. It's also a place where Hannes Pasqualini (see picture above) talks about his passion: visual narrative for the goodbehaviourally impaired.

Sarah Fimm’s 4th album “White Birds” got released at CDBaby.com on May 12th! Go to http://www.cdbaby.com/fimm4 . The first 50 sales get a free autographed photo.
