Vidi per la prima volta i suo lavori su Metal Hurlant (quello made in USA), era una storia di zombie, intitolata the zombies that ate the world e mi è piaciuto veramente tanto… poi ho comprato B.P.R.D 3 e me ne sono innamorato! Guy Davis è un maestro di stile come ce ne sono pochi! Come sempre quando si scopre un autore di questo tipo si rischia di venirne assorbiti… Davis disegna come io avrei sempre sognato di disegnare, ma cerco di resistere, anche se non sempre ci riesco, come si vede da questa immagine.

 I’ve seen his work for the first time on Metal Hurland (the made in USA version), it was a story about zombies called  the zombies that ate the world and that story really hit me… later I read B.P.R.D #3 and I completely fell in love with his drawings! Guy Davis is a great master of style, one of few. As usual, when you discover somebody like this, you risk to be absorbed… Davis draws like I have always dreamt to, but I try to resist, though sometimes somethings slips tough, as you can tell from this illustration.

Vererdì 22 giugno a casa mia (in via brennero 4) faremo festa, il pomeriggio ci sarà un mercatino delle pulci e la sera inaugurazione del nuovovideoproiettore e poi musica e alcool!

È di nuovo periodo di illustrazioni (per fortuna che ci sono, che è al momento l’unico modo per guadagnare soldi disegnando). Queste sono alcune delle illustrazioni che sto realizzando per il consueto manifesto dell’associazione Nuovo Spazio, che organizza ogni anno una rassegna di teatro amatoriale qui a Bolzano.

It’s illustration time again (thanks god… because right now it’s the only way to earn some money by drawing). These are some of the illustrations I’m making for a local association, which organizes a yearly amateur theater season, here in Bolzano.

Questa è una cosa che ho fatto un po’ di tempo fa per un’esame all’università. Purtroppo al mio docente non piaque e dovetti fare una cosa diversa (in seguito ho creato questo identikit generator qui). Nonostante tutto, questo lavoro mi piace ancora, anche se è rimasto fermo in fase alpha, con diversi angoli da smussare… e comunque resta il fatto che il protagonista è Trilob/Roody, il roditore trilobato, l’animale totem di Monipodio!
ISTRUZIONI: quando la mia mano finisce di disegnare una vignetta, appaiono più icone, che indicano diverse possibilità per far continuare la storia. cliccatele e la storia andrà avanti. Non tutte le vignette hanno più possibilità di scelta. Cliccate “skip” per far avanzare il video di 5 sec, però attenzione, se andate troppo avanti potreste mancare le icone e dovete ripartire da zero (purtroppo come diecevo questa è una versione molto alpha)

This is something I’ve created some time ago for an exam at university, unfortunately my teacher didn’t like it and I had to start all over again (I then made the identikit generator thing here). Nonetheless I still somehow like this thing, though it’s still alpha, and still kind of rough on the edges… but it’s starring Trilob/Roody, the trilobate rodent! Monipodio’s totem animal!
INSTRUCTIONS: when my hand finishes drawing you’ll see two or more icons, click on one of them to have the story continue in certain way. Not all the panels have choices. Click “skip” to advance about 5 seconds in the video, but watch out, you could miss the icons, and then you have to start all over again (as I said this is pretty much alpha still).

Ho ingrandito un pochino il mio sito, aggiungendo pagine statiche per le mie pubblicazioni (comic books), per i cortometraggi (short films) e per la musica che faccio con RHI (some music), dove tra l’altro si possono ascoltare diversi pezzi della mia produzione più o meno recente. Terrò queste sezioni aggiornate, appena ho del materiale nuovo sicuramente lo aggiungerò!

I have added some new pages to my site. One for my comic books, one for the short films and a third one for the music I create with RHI, besides, there you can listen to several tracks from my (more or less) recent production. I’ll keep these pages updated, adding new content as soon as there is some.

Qualcosa bolle in pentola. Una serie a fumetti… forse. Finalmente qualcosa di mio, di completamente mio, sicuramente. Storie di mondi futuri e futuribili, una società in lotta con se stessa… amen.

There is something going on. A comic serial… maybe. Finally something done completely by me, I story I can call my own, this is sure. Stories of possible futures, a society fighting with itself… amen.

Since I’m not really able to work right now, I’ve used the time to make me some new graphics on the RHI myspace page. Check it out! And while I was at it anyway I also created a new music section on my website… where you can also find some really old tracks and some others I had never poster anywhere… like this one:

Sabato sono stato al MI AMI. Che ci facevi a Miami? Non a Miami, al MI AMI, a Milano… e cos’è, la festa dei cuori in pena? no no… è questa cosa qui

Insomma sono stato al MI AMI, insieme alla Sbrizz. Il tempo era bello e c’era discreta quantità di materiale umano. Siamo arrivati con lo stomaco che brontolava, ma c’era una fila lunga almeno 100 metri (e non è un’iperbole) alla cassa. Visto che l’idea di passare avanti spacciandosi per medico l’aveva già avuta qualcun altro il giorno prima, abbiamo optato per il baracchino della salamella che stava fuori. Come era da supporre c’erano un sacco di concerti, alcuni sicuramente anche interessanti, ma non ne abbiamo visto nemmeno uno perché come sempre al MI AMI c’era anche il MI FAI, l’area fumetti indipendenti, e ci siamo arenati li. Anche se di fumetti n’erano ben pochi. A rappresentare la scena c’erano solo: Selfcomics, Black Velvet, Inguine, Canicola, Simone Bazznella… e le Scimmie, (per fortuna almeno una faccia nuova! nel senso che non li avevo ancora incontrati di persona… ma su questo ci torno dopo).

 Dal 21 giugno al 21 luglio a Padova ci sarà il Sherwood festival, un festival dedicato alla musica, al teatro, e al fumetto. In occasione dell’edizione di quest’anno Radio Sherwood (che organizza il festival) insieme a Becco Giallo Editore editano un’antologia di fumetti sul tema della resistenza nelle sue più svariate accezioni e manifestazioni. Una delle storie contenute sarà mia e parlerà di un uomo che è una scimmia. L’ispirazione ovviamente viene da Fabrizio de La Scimmia, a dalla copertina che ho realizzato un po’ di tempo fa per la loro rivista.

  I’m currently working on a short story for an anthology that will be pubblished for this years Sherwood Festival in Padova. It will be a story about resistance and a man who is an ape. The inspiration for this think, of course, comes from Fabrizio from La Scimmia and from the cover I did for their magazine some time ago.
