Non sono un amante delle catene… anzi le odio, non inoltro mai una mail a catena, per principio. Però in questo caso, visto che si tratta comunque di disegnare ho fatto un’eccezione, e poi non potevo certo rifiutare un invito di Federica del Proposto anche se ci ho messo circa un mese a realizzare che ero stato nominato da lei per questa cosa. Per cui ecco qui il mio pirata urrendo. E siccome è una catena nomino come mei successori in questa cosa:

Sbrizz (se si fa finalmente un blog)
e perché no… Allen B Moore, così sta cosa la mandiamo anche oltreoceano!

I’m not a big fan of Chain-mails… to be earnest, I hate them. I neve fordward a chain-mail, it’s a question of principles. This time, though, it’s different, first because there’s some drawing involved, and second because I could not withstand an invitation by Federica del Proposto although it took me about one month to actually realize I had been nominated for this thing. So here is my butt-ugly pirate guy. And since this is supposed to be a chain, here come the ones that shall succeed me:

Andreas (my brother)
Sbrizz (once she gets her new blog)
and why not… Allen B Moore, so we spread this thing on the other side of the big water too!

Gesundheit! è un videogioco, ma come potete vedere dallo screenshot non è proprio il solito videogioco. Matt Hamill ha fatto questo giochino con il popolare sistema Adventure Game Studio in modo assolutamente autonomo e indipendente e soprattutto ha disegnato tutte le grafiche che lo compongono a mano, utilizzando il cosiddetto scratchboard . Un’ottimo esempio di gioco fai-da-te assolutamente originale e soprattutto terribilmente divertente da giocare!

Il gioco lo potete scaricare qui: underwaterbase.com, se avete un Mac potete provare ad usare il port di AGS per Mac (il pacchetto che potete scaricare dal sito di Matt è per Windows) . Già che ci siete guardatevi anche questa cosa qui: Comic Dice.

 Gesundheit! is a video game, but as you might have noticed, it’s not the usual videogame. Matt Hamill made thisgame with the popular game creation suite Adventure Game Studio, without any budget or support, but the most interesting thing is that he did all the graphics by hand, drawing them on so called scratchboard. This is a great example of a DIY game with a very original approach… and the best thing is: it’s great fun to play!

You can download the game here:  underwaterbase.com, if you happen to have a Mac it might be a bit tricky to get the game to run since it’s made for Windows, you could try the AGS Mac port. And as you’re here already check this one also: Comic Dice.

Prosimian Dirty Dancing è il nome di un gruppo che ho creato un po’ di tempo fa assieme ad Armin Barducci e Matteo Cuccato. Ora il progetto sta per diventare ancora più interessante grazie all’aggiunta di due nuovi membri: Beatrice per la voce e Knob Alchemist per i suoni conturbanti. Ora dobbiamo solo risolvere il problema tempo. Nel frattempo ecco un’altra traccia dal film Highwaynausts!

Prosimian Dirty Dancing is the name of a band I created together with Armin Barducci and Matteo Cuccato some time ago, now the project is about to become even more interesting, since we have some new band members: Beatrice our future lead singer (girls yeah!), and Knob Alchemist, a guy who makes some incredibly disturbing noise (btw, check out his homepage!). If there was only more time to do all the great things one could do if there was enough time… but in the meantime, this is a new track from the Highwaynausts OST. enjoy!

Venerdì 25 maggio è stato presentato all’interno del festival Cremona in Poesia l’anteprima del volume Libro Piccolo di Bugie scritto da Gabriele Ferrero e disegnato da Gianluca Costantini, Ericailcane, Riccardo Chiereghin, Smasa, Aleksandar Zograf e dal sottoscritto, che ha anche realizzato la copertina, di cui vedete la versione “pulita” senza scritte e titoli. Una tavola della storia realizzata per questo libro l’avevo già postata un po’ di tempo fa.

Friday may 25th at the Cremona in Poesia festival there has been a preview presentation of the upcoming book Libro Piccolo di Bugie written by Gabriele Ferrero and illustrated by Gabriele Ferrero e disegnato da Gianluca Costantini, Ericailcane, Riccardo Chiereghin, Smasa, Aleksandar Zograf and me. Apart from the story I did for it, a page from which I have shown in a previous post, I made also this cover illustration for it.

I made this Ubuntu poster some time ago, and released the “sources” with a Gnu-GPL licence. But this licence is not really made for work like this, since it was concieved for software only. Now I’m re-releasing this with a more appropriate licence, a Creative Commons (share alike) licence 3.0.

The zip file you can download here contains the parts I used to make the poster in png and svg formats, compatible with all the major free applications like the Gimp, Inkscape and Scribus. You can use them to make your own poster, create a localized version, make a wallpaper or sticker with it… whatever you want as long as you don’t do it for profit, and you share the result with the same CCPL licence (see the link to creative commonst below for more info). Please let me know if you do something with it… just curious!

Periodo decisamente attivo questo. Ho appena terminato questa storia breve sui testi di Gabriele Ferrero contenuta nell’antologia (da lui curata) “Libro piccolo di bugie”, per cui ho anche realizzato la copertina. Il libro contiene diverse storie brevi scritte da Gabriele Ferrero e illustrate da disegnatori del calibro di: Ericailcane, Gianluca Costantini, Aleksandar Zograf. Non vedo l’ora di vedere il libro finito.

One could say that I’m quite busy these days. I have just finished this story for an anthology by Gabriele Ferrero called “Libro piccolo di bugie” (little book of lies) for which I’ve also made the cover illustration. The book contains several stories written by Gabriele Ferrero and illustrated by authors like Ericailcane, Gianluca Costantini, Aleksandar Zograf. I can’t wait to finally see this one!

Her touch was worm and moist, thousand little tentacles all over his body.

Una tavola per il fumetto Peter Panz scritto da Riccardo Castelli e da me disegnato in questi giorni. Peter Panz è una classica parodia (indovinate di chi?), un fumetto umoristico… era una vita che non mi tentavo nella realizzazione di qualcosa di umoristico. Se da un lato non è certamente il mio genere e forse questo si vede anche, dall’altra è però stata un’esperienza interessante, visto che ho dovuto rompere con alcuni elementi assodati, dati per scontati, del mio stile…

A page from the comic Peter Panz written by Riccardo Castelli and drawn by me. Peter Panz is a good ol’ parody, a humoristic comic. It’s been a long time since I tried myself in a comic of this kind. On one hand it certainly is not my thing, and maybe you can tell, on the other hand it’s been an interesting experience, since having to draw a story like this forced me to rethink some aspects of my style I had already given for granted.
